Metformin hydrochloride

Metformin hydrochloride is a biguanide oral hypoglycaemic agent. The raw material is known to be relatively difficult to dry granulate due to the fact that it is hygroscopic, cohesive / “sticky”, it has stability problems, and it is not inherently compressible.

With PDG Technology™, metformin is very easy to granulate. The granules show excellent flow properties, are dust free and porous.
 
The compressed tablets have acceptable hardness and disintegrate rapidly.
