PDG-0260 dry granulation process

The PDG-0260 is a fully automated and cGMP compliant dry granulation process. The process has been developed on top of the leading Gerteis MINI-PACTOR^® compactor technology.
 
The equipment has high precision control over the key processing parameters, including the compression force and air flow. The process control logic monitors and controls the material flow automatically. The PDG-0260 equipment is closed meaning that the material is contained in the process and no dust is exposed in the environment.
 
There are practically no scale-up problems with the PDG-0260 since the capacity range of the equipment is from 200g input to 1 ton per day output (i.e. 60kg per hour).

The PDG-0260 process equipment is illusrated below. The process in the figure is installed in a three floor production facility with vertical material flow. The feeding container is in the 3rd floor, the compactor and classifier are in the 2nd floor and a container for granules is in the 1st floor.
 
The PDG-0260 is also available for single room installation.
 

 
The process is controlled through a centralized control panel. Process parameters are stored in material specific recipes which enable realiable production of repeated batches. The process data is stored in electronical format and it can be uploaded to a production network. The batch report is automatically produced as a PDF document, containing production parameters, trends and events. 
 

 
The first process has been installed in Excella's production site in Germany.
